Mercury has also upgraded its existing 350 hp Verado. The new version delivers a 2.7 mph higher top speed than a 350 hp competitor in light-load conditions, as well as improved acceleration: four seconds faster from 0 to 30 mph and nearly 18 seconds faster from 0 to top speed in heavy-load configurations. It also produces four times more alternator output at cruise than the 350 hp competitor and is 40 percent quieter at cruise. Compared to Mercury’s current 350 hp model, it provides 15 percent quicker acceleration from 0 to 50 mph due to enhanced mid-range torque.
Both engines share Mercury’s V10 platform and are fully compatible with existing installations, including boats previously equipped with L6 Verado engines or similar outboards from other manufacturers.
Digital Throttle & Shift is included as standard on both the new 425hp and the upgraded 350hp engines. Joystick piloting is also available.
