OMEGA has launched the Seamaster Regatta professional sailing watch to commemorate the 37th America's Cup regatta, due to take place in Barcelona in October. The watch is made of lightweight and corrosion-resistant grade 5 titanium. The dial features a liquid crystal display, an inertia sensor and a luminance sensor for instant readability in difficult sea conditions.
The 46.75mm case houses a moon phase indicator, chronograph, yachtsman's logbook, temperature gauge, accelerometer, 3 alarms and a countdown timer. All these functions are performed by OMEGA's in-house calibre 5701, a new multifunctional quartz chronograph movement with temperature-compensated integrated circuit.
The caseback, which is water-resistant to 50 metres (the model is designed for yachting, not diving), is engraved with the SEAMASTER REGATTA, the 37th AMERICA'S CUP and the competition logo. In addition, the lid itself is designed to act as a resonator, amplifying the sound of the alarm.
The watch comes with a blue rubber strap with the signature Quick Change system, which allows you to quickly remove the previous strap and install another one without the need for special tools.
The Seamaster Regatta features a Super-Luminova coating and an excellent backlight function. When activated, the hands instantly move to the side, making the digital readout easy to read. The battery provides up to 36 months of use, which is quite a lot considering the wide range of functions.
