Voodoo Yachts XF75

Voodoo Yachts from New Zealand launches first XF75 hydrofoil expedition yacht.
New Zealand-based shipyard Voodoo Yachts has launched the first motor yacht in its XF75 series of expedition hydrofoil vessels. Measuring 22.8 meters, the yacht has already reached a top speed of 50.9 knots during sea trials and completed what is described as "possibly the fastest crossing in history" from New Zealand to Queensland, covering 1,170 nautical miles in just 36 hours.

After the delivery, the yacht will make its debut at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show before its owners embark on an extended journey to the Kimberley, a remote region of savannah and coastline in Western Australia.

The combination of hydrofoils and a hydrodynamically efficient hull design makes the XF75 50% more fuel-efficient than other yachts of similar size. This innovation reduces fuel consumption, minimises the need for frequent stops, and allows the yacht to reach more remote destinations. The vessel offers 275 square metres of usable space, which includes a galley, dining area, and a salon connected to the helm station, as well as four guest cabins and one crew cabin.

One of the yacht’s standout features is a helipad on the roof of the superstructure, designed to accommodate an Airbus H130 helicopter with refuelling capabilities. The yacht also provides storage for a tender, a jet ski, and various water sports equipment.
