Damen launches 1st 60-meter Xplorer 60

The first 60-meter expedition yacht, Damen Yachting Xplorer 60, has been launched at the Antalya shipyard in Turkey. The yacht is currently in the final stages of outfitting, including commissioning and sea trials, with construction set to be completed and delivery scheduled for June 2025.



Previously known as the SeaXplorer 60, the Xplorer 60 has been built on spec and is available for purchase. Its bold and rugged exterior was designed by Azure Yacht Design, while the naval architecture was developed by Damen Yachting in-house. The interiors were crafted by H2 Yacht Design. The yacht draws inspiration from the original designs of the 58.3-meter Xplorer Pink Shadow and the 76.9-meter Xplorer La Datcha, both of which have proven highly successful on the charter market.

The expedition yacht, with a gross tonnage of 1,160 GT, can accommodate up to 12 guests and 16 crew members. Onboard, there is an observation lounge with direct access to the exterior forward deck, allowing owners and guests to enjoy breathtaking views of natural landscapes and wildlife, whether in the Mediterranean or polar regions. For even more panoramic vistas, the yacht features a "crow's nest." True to its explorer credentials, the Xplorer 60 is equipped with a fully certified helipad and ample storage for tenders and a variety of water toys.



Built to ice-class standards, the yacht features a hybrid propulsion system with battery packs and complies with IMO Polar Code requirements, making it suitable for worldwide exploration. In addition to its expedition capabilities, the Xplorer 60 offers all the luxury amenities expected of a superyacht, including a spa area on the bridge deck and a jacuzzi-equipped pool.

A second hull of this model is currently under construction, with delivery expected in May 2026.
