Not a mirage

Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) and Italian hotel chain Arsenale will launch the first luxury train in the Middle East. Called Dream of the Desert, the train's interiors will be inspired by the kingdom's desert landscape and architecture with references to landmarks such as the ancient Madain Salih complex and the ancient city of Hail.

The train will have 14 carriages with 34 luxury compartments, with a spa on board also promised. In addition to luxurious finishes and the highest level of service, passengers of the Middle East Express will be offered a menu from the best chefs.

Departing from Riyadh, the train will follow the Northern Railway, allowing guests to experience some of Saudi Arabia's most breathtaking historical and natural attractions.
