Baltic Yachts completed the refit of the world's largest carbon sloop

The yacht Ravenger, formerly known as Pink Gin VI, has been given a new interior and a more powerful sailing plan.

The 53.9 m sailing yacht Ravenger, which was previously known as Pink Gin VI, has successfully completed a comprehensive 10-month refit at Baltic Yachts in Jakobstad, Finland. Since its delivery in 2017, the Baltic 175 has held the title of the largest carbon fibre sloop-rigged sailing yacht in the world, a status it continues to enjoy. The yacht arrived at Baltic Yachts in November 2023 after being acquired by a new owner. Crafted by Judel/Vrolijk & Co. and Design Unlimited, this 325 GT yacht is well known on the regatta circuit, celebrated for its lightweight carbon structure, and frequently spotted with a striking pink spinnaker.

The yacht's exterior design was developed by the owner’s team, featuring Finnish designer Jarkko Jämsén. The recent refit focused on both aesthetic improvements and performance enhancements, including significant upgrades to the rigging, sail plan, and sailing systems. Design Unlimited also reimagined the yacht's interiors, including a newly styled owner's cabin.

The mast has been reconstructed to support an upgraded sail plan. Notable modifications include a 1.5-meter extension of the bowsprit, a new headstay, and the installation of running backstays.

Ravenger now features a hardtop Bimini that protects the midship passenger cockpit, along with modernised helm stations. Additionally, all deck winches have been replaced with lighter, faster models from Harken, reducing the total winch weight from 600 kg to about 150 kg.

The refreshed interiors showcase softer, neutral tones paired with light oak veneers. The layout remains mostly unchanged, apart from the owner's cabin, which now boasts custom hand-carved timber furniture.

The impressive fold-out balcony platforms in both the saloon and owner's cabin from the original design have been retained, and a new breakfast bar has been introduced in the main saloon, taking the place of the previous baby grand piano. Enhancing noise reduction has also been a significant focus of this project.
