Hiking in the most beautiful and secluded places, landing on wild shores, open sea fishing — these are just some of the activities that Russian North is known and appreciated for by extreme tourism connoisseurs. There are few other places you can experience the same feeling of nature's power and unity with it. But this nature is not gentle, and for all of the above you need a reliable and seaworthy boat. That is why the vast experience of the Laky Verf shipyard, which has been producing boats for coast guards and other emergency services, can be called upon.

Laky Verf has been on the market since 2005, and its first product, the 23M motor yacht was built to a design of one of the best Dutch design studios, led by Guido de Groot. Since 2010 the company has been designing patrol boats, and now it is also developing the active and extreme tourism branch.

The 11MM cabin boat of 11.7m in LOA with a reinforced aluminium hull is a real Viking, ready to throw itself against the waves and bad weather. The boat is designed and built in a way to deliver improved seaworthiness, manoeuverability, reliability and safety. She quickly accelerates and does sharp turns when needed. With twin 300 hp V8 outboards, 11MM is capable of more than 40 knots. Three outboards may also be fitted if desired.

As for reliability, the hull is filled with buoyancy blocks allowing the vessel to stay afloat ‘even in case of multiple penetrating holes of varying diameters’. Simply put, the 11MM doesn't sink, even when riddled with bullets, and more ordinary accidents don't count.

The hull is protected by a soft polyurethane foam belt with a reinforced block in the bow, which perfectly protects the hull from damage when mooring to berths and other vessels. All handrails and ladders have anti-slip coating.

The deckhouse includes a spacious saloon with high ceilings and comfortable seating to accommodate 6–8 people. Four ergonomic shock-suspension chairs are placed along the central aisle, but if you want a different layout, for example, sofas with a table to enjoy a freshly caught fish, the shipyard can do it too. The saloon is full of natural light, offers all-round visibility and the reverse tilted windscreen is glare-free. The helm station features a state-of-the-art touchscreen navigation system, with functions duplicated by analogue buttons and switches.

In the centre, next to the helm station, is the entrance to a small but cosy cabin with a sofa bed. Here you can not only take a break, but also heat up lunch. There is enough space for a fridge, table and microwave. There is a hatch in the ceiling, so there is plenty of natural light inside.

There are plenty of storage compartments on board, so you can plan a long trip and take a lot of equipment, fishing and sports accessories, there is also a possibility to tow water skiers or wakeboards.

To appeal to avid fishermen, the shipyard has made the 11MM wide enough for its dimensions, leaving large open spaces on the bow and transom for casting rods, moving around and stowing the catch.

Since the boat was originally designed for patrolling, reliability, functionality and comfort were the main priorities over luxury. However, should you wish to have a more luxurious interiors, an in-house carpentry production of Laky Verf is capable of producing fine furnishings and decorate the boat with exclusive veneers, leathers and fabrics.

How suitable is such a boat for the city? Check how seamlessly the yacht blends into the background of historical monuments and modern buildings of St. Petersburg on our photos. The boat has a collapsible mast, allowing you to quickly lower it below the roof level, reducing the height during transportation and to clear the low bridges.

To sum things up, Laky 11MM harmoniously combines Scandinavian approach to design, functionality and wide customization options. This is a boat for the experienced owner with a strong character and big plans, for ‘those who mean business’.
