Kevin Costner described his impressions of the Pardo GT75 on social media as follows: ‘Elegance, 360-degree visibility and plenty of comfortable places to sunbathe and relax, all just a step from the sea'. He attached a video from his Mediterranean cruise to his post.
The Hollywood actor and director presented the first part of his new western movie ‘Horizons’ in Italy. Thanks to the shipyard he had a good reboot after filming and promoting the movie, visiting Calabria, Sicily and the Lipari Islands, and Cantiere del Pardo drew attention to his new product on the eve of the autumn boat shows.
The shipyard is pinning hopes of entering a new market segment on the new flagship. It is well known for its day cruisers, and with the arrival of this boat it has broken the 20 metre length milestone. The GT75 allows to cruise for a week or even two. In terms of layout and technical equipment, the yacht is well suited for the Mediterranean or Black Sea, as well as island-hopping in the Caribbean.
The exterior is designed by Nauta Design in the yard's signature style, with sharp lines, inverted bow, forward sloping windscreen and low stern.
Gigi Servidati, President of Cantiere del Pardo, compares the yacht to a luxury villa: ‘The Pardo GT75 is the epitome of the vision we have endeavoured to achieve through our expertise in shipbuilding combined with outstanding design and cutting-edge technology. You can only fully appreciate the enormous potential of the Pardo GT75 by experiencing it for yourself!’
Relaxation and silence reign on board. The enclosed superstructure provides complete protection from the midday sun or chilly winds. The galley can be located upstairs in the saloon or on the lower deck. The former provides an open kitchen and an L-shaped sofa with a dining table for eight. The main deck becomes a large guest area with comfortable sofas, complemented by a semi-open roof, side windows and a sliding door aft with excellent visibility. A large TV screen drops down from the ceiling behind the dashboard. In the cabin, every metre of space is used wisely. Behind three front seats there is a spacious chest of drawers, and under the ceiling there are bookshelves and mezzanines - you can take a lot of pleasant little things on the road! By opening most of the panoramic windows and the rear door, in good weather the saloon can be combined with a surprisingly spacious and close to the water cockpit, where there is a huge sun bed.
The cockpit bulwarks are lowered to become the side terraces of the aft platform. Their design is remarkable because the angle of inclination is adjustable. If you lower the panel not completely, but, for example, by 30 degrees, and put cushions on it, you get additional places for sunbathing. From the centre of the platform there is a convenient ladder for going down into the water and another small submerged platform. On it you can put water toys or moor a tender. The stern platform is available in different configurations — 'Tender' with a 3.7m RIB garage (not bad for a 23 metre yacht!) or 'Beach' with a flat open space and access to the platform from the master suite.
Forward there is another wide sandbed with a reclining backrest to look out to sea or sit facing the sofa and coffee table in front of the windscreen. High bulwarks provide complete privacy.
The first hull presented in Cannes has two large cabins, saloon and galley on the lower deck, but it is possible to plan three and even four cabins, as well as a double cabin for the crew. In either case, the ‘master’ will occupy the entire space from board to board. All cabins are exquisitely decorated with wood panelling in warm colours. Each has its own bathroom.
With the GT75, Pardo Yachts has taken the concept of ‘ease of handling’ to the absolute. The driving experience, whether on the high seas or in port, is optimised thanks to the raised centre panel, bow thruster and second joystick in the cockpit. All this facilitates mooring and other procedures where precision and ease of handling are required.
The standard engine package includes three Volvo Penta IPS1050s. An optional triple IPS1200 or even an IPS1350 can be ordered, bringing the total output to 4050 hp. Moreover, the engine room is designed to accommodate possible hybrid propulsion to minimise environmental impact. Added to this is a decent range thanks to the optimised Deep V hull. The yacht has an 1100 litre water tank and a 4300 litre fuel tank.
Despite such impressive performance, the ride will be quiet and comfortable thanks to special sound insulation and a gyro-stabiliser.
‘The shipyard's requirements were clear from the outset: to create the largest Pardo yacht ever built, while remaining true to the key elements that distinguish her smaller sisters,’ — says Edoardo Zuccheri of Zuccheri Design, who worked on the vessel's naval architecture. — After a long and complex design process, we can say that we are more than satisfied with the final result: performance, seaworthiness, design and engineering are truly worthy of a flagship. The synergy between the shipyard, Nauta Design and our studio was inspiring and we consider the result to be outstanding.’
