Slow Ride: the 1st Bering 78

Bering Yachts launched the 1st hull of a 23m 'pocket' explorer project.
The Bering Yachts shipyard in Antalya, Turkey, launched its latest model, ‘designed to take its owners anywhere, from shallow lagoons to the open ocean.’

The steel hull with an aluminium superstructure boasts not only a striking exterior but also advanced design solutions. For example, the reverse-sloping bow with its precise geometry allows the yacht to not only overcome waves but also to cut through them smoothly, reducing vertical hull vibrations and increasing comfort while underway.

Thanks to its shallow draught of only 1.45 m when fully loaded, the Bering 78 can easily enter shallow waters. At the same time, the vessel has received a CE category A classification, as a pair of Cummins QSL9 engines and a fuel capacity of 11,290 litres provide it with a cruising range of more than 3,000 nautical miles at 8 knots. The maximum speed reaches ten knots.

Despite its modest dimensions – 23.85 m in length (23.55 m at the waterline) and 6.52 m in width – the Slow Ride boasts a fairly decent internal volume for its size: 109 GT. The lower deck has three guest cabins and one double cabin for the crew. The superstructure houses the saloon, galley and wheelhouse, and the semi-custom nature of the project allows for variation in both finish and layout. And for relaxing in the fresh air, there is a large flybridge, lounges at the bow and in the cockpit, plus a fixed bathing platform.
