Amels 60 Memories: beach house luxury

The Amels 60 Memories has departed Damen Yachting’s main Amels build facility in Vlissingen following final delivery to her new owner. Immediately prior to delivery of this 60-metre Amels Limited Editions, this Amels 60 was officially named Memories. The name unveiling took place during a private yacht naming ceremony held at the Dutch shipyard and was attended by the owner’s team and crew.

As with all Amels 60s, the exterior design of Memories has been penned by Espen Øino International. She features the signature geometric windows and includes many of the enhancements included in recent deliveries. Memories is the first Amels 60 to feature custom interiors by Harrison Eidsgaard and is the first Amels new build to have a Harrison Eidsgaard interior.

The owner of Memories was introduced by Moran Yacht & Ship just 6 months prior to delivery – something that the Amels Limited Editions concept is built in mind for. Despite the late entry into the build process, the owner has still been able to make a number of customisations, including changes to the beach club, owner’s areas and sun deck – where a large sofa with a TV that drops down from the ceiling now replaces a dining table and a bar.

The Bridge Deck Aft has also been adapted from a lounge area with a TV and games table into an on-deck cinema setup. Even with these changes, the owner has now taken delivery of this 60-metre Amels, ready for charter, within just 6 months.

The custom interiors by Harrison Eidsgaard have a contemporary and welcoming style that provides a refined take on beach house luxury, where natural materials and a clever use of detailing ensure a warm and tactile finish. A standout feature of the interior is the spiral staircase with the inset handrail, including illumination. 

A busy charter schedule now lies ahead for Memories. Whilst it is expected that her owner will also make private use of the Amels superyacht, charter is very much a focus, and she is expected to share success that other charter Amels 60s – Entourage and Come Together – have experienced.
