The first hull of the Amels 80 line has been launched at the Damen Yachting shipyard in Vlissingen, Netherlands. The construction of this 80-meter yacht began on spec, and it wasn't until six months later that a buyer emerged. The sale was officially announced at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2022, with the client being brought in by Burgess, who is also representing them in the project.
The Amels 80 is the largest of the Limited Editions yachts, which are semi-custom vessels marketed as pre-engineered technical platforms providing owners with the opportunity to customize interiors and exteriors while offering a significant cut in delivery time.
The exterior design of the Amels 80 was created by Espen Øino, while Damen Yachting collaborated with the Dutch studio Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design for the interiors. This marks the first collaboration between this creative duo.
Among the standout features of the Amels 80 is a 6.5-meter swimming pool on the aft deck with a transparent bottom, allowing light to filter down into the beach club located beneath it. The beach club includes three opening sea terraces, creating a semi-enclosed relaxation area in close proximity to the yacht’s spa, sauna, gym, hammam, and massage room.
The yacht can accommodate up to 14 guests in seven cabins, along with a crew of 21. The owner has a dedicated deck featuring a private lounge and library. The space is adorned with inlays of precious materials, marble, and woven metal mesh, while floor-to-ceiling glass windows fill the interiors with natural light and offer stunning views of the sea. The designers at Sinot aimed to preserve the natural beauty of the materials used in the decor, achieving harmony between the yacht's interiors and the surrounding environment.
The yacht has a gross tonnage of 2,175 GT, providing ample space for the owners’ and designers’ creativity. In line with modern trends, in addition to a hybrid power system, the yacht can be equipped with a fast-charging station for an electric tender.
The sun deck, measuring 200 square meters, exceeds the size of similar spaces on many other yachts of the same length. It features a round jacuzzi at the bow, surrounded by sun loungers, a shaded bar, and a round dining table at the stern.
The yacht's maximum speed is 16.5 knots, with a maximum cruising range of 5,000 nautical miles.
Two more Amels 80 hulls are under construction with deliveries in 2026.
