Artisans de Genève unveils Rolex Submariner "Brown Ice"

The exclusive one-of-a-kind customised model is inspired by nature and classic mahogany boats.

Swiss independent watchmaking atelier Artisans de Genève, renowned for its exquisite custom timepieces, has unveiled its latest creation—a unique reinterpretation of the iconic Rolex Submariner 116610. Named "Brown Ice," this bespoke masterpiece embodies the aesthetic vision of its owner while showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail.

The "Brown Ice" edition draws inspiration from the serene beauty of nature. Its icy blue and rich brown tones transport the wearer to a tranquil world of calm lakes, polished mahogany boats, and shimmering reflections on the water. “When I wear these watches, I feel the same sense of freedom as when I’m out on the water. Brown Ice reflects my individuality, spirit of adventure, connection to water, and passion for craftsmanship and detail,” shared the exclusive model’s owner, known by the initials I.S.L.

Every detail of the "Brown Ice" has been thoughtfully designed and masterfully handcrafted. At its heart lies an icy blue skeletonized dial with flame-blued hour markers. Through this dial, the intricate workings of the Rolex SA® caliber 3135® movement are on full display. The movement has been entirely reworked by hand, with sandblasted components coated in palladium, beveled edges, and a polished finish that enhances its beauty.

The date disc is crafted from sapphire glass with hand-applied black markings, while the Dauphine steel hands feature diamond-cut edges and flame-blued accents, adding depth and contrast. The bezel is made from Swiss brown ceramic, adorned with laser-engraved platinum details.

The case retains its water resistance of up to 300 meters, making it ideal for aquatic adventures. Its beveled edges pair seamlessly with a satin-brushed finish, creating a harmonious interplay of textures. The sapphire crystal case back reveals the exquisite rotor, crafted from white gold, which has been painstakingly hand-polished and flame-blued.

The balance bridge, made from polished steel and alloy, has also undergone meticulous hand-finishing, exemplifying the atelier’s dedication to even the smallest details.
