Good news for yachtsmen going to Montenegro: tax-free fuel is back for foreign private and commercial yachts in 2025. This benefit allows savings of 33 to 44 cents per litre of fuel.
The details of the new yachting regulations have been clarified by Burevestnik Montenegro, whose offices are located in the largest Montenegrin marinas, Porto Montenegro and Luštica Bay. The company represents leading yacht brands such as Arcadia, Ferretti Group, Sea Ray, Frauscher, Chris-Craft, SACS, and others.
According to company representatives, to qualify for the tax refund, a yacht must remain in Montenegrin waters for at least 72 hours (excluding the day of arrival). Duty-free refueling is available at three marinas in the region: Porto Montenegro, Porto Novi, and AD Marina Bar. After refuelling, the vessel must leave Montenegrin territorial waters but is allowed to return later.
The team at Burevestnik Montenegro is ready to assist boaters in navigating the new regulations, handling documentation, booking refuelling, and providing any additional support during their stay in Montenegrin waters.
