The Dutch shipyard Heesen Yachts has announced the launch of its 55-meter vessel, Project Venus, now named Solemates. This steel superyacht is entering the commissioning phase in preparation for upcoming sea trials in the North Sea.
The yacht, with a gross tonnage of 760 GT, was sold in June 2024 to a "distinguished yacht connoisseur" and a long-time client of Heesen. The name Solemates has previously been held by several yachts, including a 60-meter Lürssen, a 52-meter Feadship, and most recently, a 36-meter Mulder.
Solemates features a sleek steel hull, constructed by Heesen's subcontractor, the Dutch yard Talsma, using the Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) design from Van Oossanen Naval Architects. The construction of steel hulls is carried out separately from Heesen's facility in Oss to "avoid cross-contamination" with the aluminium hulls produced in-house.
Architect Silvia Margutti from Luca Dini Design and Architecture has created custom interiors for the yacht in a vibrant palette that includes shades of lime, turquoise, and soft blue.
One of the yacht's standout features is the main staircase, adorned with acrylic panels embedded with gold flakes and crystals. The owner's suite, spanning 82 square meters, also draws attention, along with a sun deck featuring a jacuzzi and a beach club equipped with a sauna, bar, and direct water access.
The delivery of the vessel is scheduled for the second quarter of this year, and it will be showcased at the Monaco Yacht Show in the fall.
