Pure Speed: the most thrilling Mercedes yet

Mercedes-AMG has officially introduced the PureSpeed, a striking speedster first teased as a concept in the summer of 2024. This bold machine marks the debut of the Mythos series, a new line of exclusive vehicles from the German automaker. The world premiere took place at the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, where the car was presented as a tribute to Mercedes-Benz’s rich motorsport legacy.  



PureSpeed combines cutting-edge engineering, immense power under the hood, and a daring design that forgoes both a roof and a windshield. Driving this speedster feels as exhilarating as piloting a high-performance speedboat on open water.  



Limited to just 250 units, the PureSpeed’s long hood and shark-nose front are reminiscent of the Mercedes-AMG ONE hypercar. Instead of a traditional windshield frame, which typically serves as a structural element for rollover protection and chassis rigidity, the car features a HALO system borrowed from Formula 1. This futuristic hoop over the cockpit, vaguely resembling Mercedes’ iconic three-pointed star, gives the car an incredibly avant-garde aesthetic.  



Under the hood, the PureSpeed is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine producing 585 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. Paired with AMG’s SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission and 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, this powerhouse propels the car from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.6 seconds, with a top speed of 195 mph (315 km/h). The fully open cockpit amplifies the driving experience, immersing both driver and passenger in the roar of the engine.  



The interior of the PureSpeed is a showcase of luxury and high-tech sophistication. The cabin features a two-tone crystal white and black color scheme, AMG Performance seats, an analog IWC Schaffhausen clock, and a Burmester High-End 3D Surround Sound System. Exclusive helmets equipped with built-in communication systems are provided for the driver and passenger—an essential addition for high-speed journeys in such an open design.
